Gnanaguru Sri Muralidhara Swamigal established the Danvantri Arogya Peedam, which is an unique concept in the Hindu philosophy of life, in Kilpudupet, Walajapet, Vellore Dist., on Dec 15, 2004. In this Peedam, the Aadhi Vaidhyar Danvantri Bhagavan was installed with 50 Crore Danvantri likitha japa mantras written by approximately 46 lakh people in 13 languages from all over the world, which brings solace to the heart of sufferers, giving them the strength to bear the trauma of illness and adding a divine dimension to their search for a disease-free life.
Swamigal has installed more than 45 deities in this complex so far and the unique Swaha Peedam (24 Hours Yaaga Salai), Kaala Chakram (48 species of plants), Herbal Garden (108 Herbal plants), Happy Homes – Old Age Home (under construction), 468 Siddhars in Sivalingam form, etc.
Danvantri Peedam will be celebrating its 8th year annual festival with the Maha Mantra Prathistai and Thailabishekam for the 6½’ moolavar Danvantri Bhagavan starting from Nov 28 to Dec 14, followed by 108 Herbal Powder abishekam on Dec 15. Thailaabishekam (Oil Bath) for the moolavar Danvantri Bhagavan will happen on the above mentioned dates from 10 AM to 6 PM at Danvantri Peedam, Walajapet.
